| Nov. 7 4:49 PM PT5:49 PM MT6:49 PM CT7:49 PM ET12:49 AM GMT8:49 AM 北京时间-Lidge will have surgery on his right elbow on Wednesday. Analysis: Lidge is scheduled to have a loose body removed and Dr. Michael Ciccotti also will evaluate his right flexor/pronator tendon. Lidge led the majors with 11 blown saves this season but was better in the playoffs as the Phillies reached the World Series before losing to the Yankees in six games. |

| Oct. 25 12:51 PM PT1:51 PM MT2:51 PM CT3:51 PM ET8:51 PM GMT4:51 AM 北京时间-Lidge's resurgence has come at a perfect time for the Phillies. The defending champions needed someone to step up in the bullpen during the postseason, and Lidge has done just that. He's 1-0 with three saves in as many tries and hasn't allowed a run in five appearances. The hard-throwing right-hander has given up just one hit in four innings. Analysis: But this year was a nightmare for Lidge. He led the majors with 11 blown saves and went 0-8 with a 7.21 ERA. None of that matters now. Lidge is lights-out again, and the Phillies are heading back to the World Series. They'll play the New York Yankees or Los Angeles Angels, starting Wednesday. |
| Sep. 26 1:21 PM PT2:21 PM MT3:21 PM CT4:21 PM ET9:21 PM GMT5:21 AM 北京时间-Lidge allowed a run in an inning of relief in Friday's 8-4 loss to Milwaukee. Analysis: General manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said before the game that the team would look at other options for closing games - although he said Lidge, who has a major league-worst 11 blown saves, remains in the mix. |
| Sep. 25 4:53 PM PT5:53 PM MT6:53 PM CT7:53 PM ET12:53 AM GMT8:53 AM 北京时间-Lidge is no longer the full-time closer for the Philadelphia Phillies. Analysis: General manager Ruben Amaro Jr. says the World Series champions will consider options besides Lidge. Amaro added Friday that Lidge could remain in the mix. Lidge has blown 11 of 42 save chances this season for the NL East leaders. He is 0-8 with a 7.48 ERA. |
| Sep. 24 11:22 AM PT12:22 PM MT1:22 PM CT2:22 PM ET7:22 PM GMT3:22 AM 北京时间-Lidge gave up two runs in the ninth in Wednesday's 7-6 loss to Florida to blow his major league-leading 11th save. Analysis: "It's incredibly frustrating," Lidge said. "I'm disappointed. They hit the ball tonight. I'm a little bit at a loss. I'm sure there's some things I can do better." Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said the late-inning bullpen solution is simple: Lidge and Ryan Madson must do the job. |
| Sep. 18 1:29 PM PT2:29 PM MT3:29 PM CT4:29 PM ET9:29 PM GMT5:29 AM 北京时间-Lidge gave up a run in the ninth inning of Thursday's 4-2 win over the Nationals before finishing for his 30th save in 40 chances Analysis: Lidge, who has a 7.21 ERA on the season, is 0-2 with five saves and a 10.29 ERA in his last nine appearances. |
| Sep. 9 4:42 PM PT5:42 PM MT6:42 PM CT7:42 PM ET12:42 AM GMT8:42 AM 北京时间-A day after pulling Lidge in the ninth inning, Philadelphia Phillies manager Charlie Manuel wouldn't commit to keeping him in that role. Analysis: Lidge has struggled this whole season, blowing 10 of 38 save chances. He is 0-7 with a 7.11 ERA for the NL East leaders. "He might be right in there tonight,'' Manuel said before Wednesday's game against Washington. "I'm not saying he's going to be, 100 percent. He might be and he might not.'' On Tuesday night, Lidge took over to begin the ninth with a 5-3 lead against the Nationals. He faced four batters, resulting in a single, walk, hit batter, wild pitch and one out. |
| Sep. 8 3:19 PM PT4:19 PM MT5:19 PM CT6:19 PM ET11:19 PM GMT7:19 AM 北京时间-Phillies manager Charlie Manuel says Lidge is still the closer for the defending World Series champions. Analysis: Before Tuesday night's game against Washington, Manuel reiterated his support for Lidge, who has blown 10 of 38 save opportunities. On Saturday, Lidge allowed two runs, two hits and walked two in a loss at Houston. Manuel said the team needs to "show confidence" in Lidge, who converted all 48 of his save chances in the Phillies' world championship season last year. |
| Sep. 6 10:48 AM PT11:48 AM MT12:48 PM CT1:48 PM ET6:48 PM GMT2:48 AM 北京时间-Lidge blew his 10th save and fell to 0-7 on Saturday in a 5-4 loss to the Astros. It came at the site of many nightmares for Lidge, who blew eight blown saves in 2007 with the Astros. Analysis: Lidge is not getting the job done and should be dropped by fantasy owners. "The control just wasn't there," Lidge said. "I fell behind on the count to a few guys because of it. And obviously when you're falling behind 2-0, 3-0 and 3-1, you're getting into good hitter's counts." |
| Aug. 26 11:38 AM PT12:38 PM MT1:38 PM CT2:38 PM ET7:38 PM GMT3:38 AM 北京时间-Lidge blew another save Tuesday - his major league-leading ninth of the season - by allowing three runs and three hits on just six pitches without recording an out in a 6-4 loss at Pittsburgh. Analysis: Pitching for the fourth day in a row - he was used to mop up a 6-2 win over the Mets in a non-save situation on Monday - Lidge had nothing on his pitches. Yet despite his 7.33 ERA, manager Charlie Manuel says he isn't contemplating a change. |
| Aug. 16 9:48 AM PT10:48 AM MT11:48 AM CT12:48 PM ET5:48 PM GMT1:48 AM 北京时间-Lidge committed two errors on one play and blew his eighth save of the season, allowing two runs in the ninth to Atlanta on Saturday in the Phillies' 4-3 loss. Analysis: It's been a disastrous season for Lidge after essentially being perfect during the Phillies' run to the World Series. He is 0-5 with a 7.27 ERA and has allowed 10 homers and 28 walks in 43 1-3 innings. |
| Aug. 12 11:24 AM PT12:24 PM MT1:24 PM CT2:24 PM ET7:24 PM GMT3:24 AM 北京时间-Lidge blew his seventh save this season Tuesday night against the Chicago Cubs. With the Phillies holding a one-run lead heading into the bottom of the ninth, Lidge walked Kosuke Fukudome and gave up an RBI single to Milton Bradley following a Cubs sacrifice bunt. Analysis: After converting 41 of 41 saves during Philadelphia's championship run, Lidge has made good on 21 of his 28 chances this season. He's one shy of matching his career-worst eight blown saves in 2007, his final season with Houston. |
| Jun. 29 12:43 PM PT1:43 PM MT2:43 PM CT3:43 PM ET8:43 PM GMT4:43 AM 北京时间-Lidge's knee faced a big test in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Blue Jays. Activated off the disabled list last week after being out since June 9 with a sprained right knee, Lidge had to move quickly when Blue Jays catcher Raul Chavez bunted to begin the ninth, reaching safely when Lidge's throw pulled Ryan Howard off first base. Analysis: "They probably know why I came off the DL and they tried to test it," said Lidge, who recorded his 14th save. "Unfortunately he laid a perfect bunt down, too. I was able to get to it and grab the ball and throw it and no damage. I walked around the mound just to take inventory, make sure everything felt all right, and it did. That was huge for me." |
| Jun. 25 1:04 PM PT2:04 PM MT3:04 PM CT4:04 PM ET9:04 PM GMT5:04 AM 北京时间-Lidge has been reinstated from the 15-day disabled list. Analysis: Philadelphia announced the move Thursday. The right-hander had been out with a sprained right knee since June 7, after starting the season 0-3 with a 7.27 ERA and 13 saves in 19 chances. Lidge was 48 for 48 in save chances last year, including the postseason. |
| Jun. 7 12:45 PM PT1:45 PM MT2:45 PM CT3:45 PM ET8:45 PM GMT4:45 AM 北京时间-Lidge had his second blown save in less than 24 hours, giving up a tying home run to pinch-hitter Rafael Furcal with one out in the ninth Saturday as the Phillies lost 3-2 to the Dodgers in 12 innings. Analysis: Lidge has coughed up leads in six of his 19 save attempts this season. He has a 7.27 ERA and has yielded seven home runs in 26 innings. Lidge converted all 41 save opportunities last year in the regular season. |
| May 25 11:18 AM PT12:18 PM MT1:18 PM CT2:18 PM ET7:18 PM GMT3:18 AM 北京时间-Lidge blew his second save opportunity in as many days with one run on two hits in the ninth Sunday at Yankee Stadium, but the Phillies rallied for a 4-3 victory. Analysis: Lidge, who is 8 for 12 on saves this season, had converted three in a row before the series with the Yankees. Over the last two days, the reliever's ERA has risen from 7.85 to 9.15. |
| May 24 9:31 AM PT10:31 AM MT11:31 AM CT12:31 PM ET5:31 PM GMT1:31 AM 北京时间-Lidge blew a two-run lead in the ninth inning Saturday and took the loss as the Phillies fell 5-4 at Yankee Stadium. Analysis: Lidge, who converted all 48 save chances in 2008 - including the postseason - during his first year in Philadelphia, has blown three of 11 opportunities this season. His ERA climbed to 9.16, but there don't seem to be any mechanical problems. "His stuff's good and his breaking ball's good. Give them credit. He made some pitches and they hit 'em," Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said. |
| May 2 4:10 PM PT5:10 PM MT6:10 PM CT7:10 PM ET12:10 AM GMT8:10 AM 北京时间-Lidge threw before Friday's game and said he'd be ready to pitch Saturday. He hasn't appeared in a game since last Saturday because of inflammation in his right knee. Analysis: Lidge is off to a tough start this season, and while this is encouraging news, it can't hurt to have Ryan Madson on your roster for insurance. |
| Apr. 19 10:10 AM PT11:10 AM MT12:10 PM CT1:10 PM ET6:10 PM GMT2:10 AM 北京时间-Lidge blew his first save in 54 opportunities, allowing four runs, including a three-run homer to Kevin Kouzmanoff, and the San Diego Padres beat the Philadelphia Phillies 8-5 on Saturday night. Analysis: Lidge (0-1) was a perfect 48-for-48, including the playoffs, in save chances last year in his first season with the Phillies. He hadn't blown a save opportunity since Sept. 23, 2007, when he was with the Astros. |
